Hoshino Resorts Tomamu, a nature wonder resort where you can feel the land of Hokkaido, will begin operations of 'Unkai Terrace', where you can encounter various sea of clouds, including dynamic ones, from May 13, 2026.

＜What is Unkai Terrace?＞
Unkai Terrace is an observation facility located at an altitude of 1,088 meters on Mount Tomamu, where you can enjoy various sea of clouds, including dynamic ones, when weather conditions are met. You can access the summit by Unkai Gondola, which takes approximately 13 minutes one way. With the desire for guests to also enjoy the sea of clouds, a familiar sight to the gondola maintenance staff, it opened in 2005, and since then, over 1.7 million people have visited. In 2021, the three-story main deck was renovated, allowing visitors to enjoy an even more expansive view.

Also, under the 'Cloud9 Project' (Cloud Nine Project), which proposes nine ways to enjoy Unkai Terrace, you can enjoy the sea of clouds and magnificent nature from points with different altitudes and angles by exploring unique observation spots while strolling around the entire mountain. It is derived from 'I am on cloud nine.', which means 'the ultimate happiness' in English, and as of November 2025, seven spots have been completed, with more planned for the future. You can visit seven unique observation spots installed along the mountain path and view the sea of clouds as you wish.
