Environmental Conservation Forum 2026 — From Asahiyama Zoo, the future we aim for —

Specified Non-profit Organization Asahiyama Zoo Club, in co-sponsorship with Asahikawa City Asahiyama Zoo, will hold "Environmental Conservation Forum 2026 ~Future Aimed for from Asahiyama Zoo~" on March 22, 2026 (Sunday).
Part 1 is a program for families, and Part 2 and later parts are content for adults to carefully consider environmental conservation. You can choose the part you wish to participate in according to your convenience.
The venue is Asahikawa City Citizen Activity Exchange Center CoCoDe. It is an event we want everyone in the vicinity of Asahikawa City to visit as a place for weekend learning and experience.

【Program】
■Part 1 (13:00~) For families: Starting from a story, parent and child "knowing and creating" time
Following the screening (approx. 20 minutes) of the video "Arashi no Yoru ni" provided by OMO7 Asahikawa, a reading aloud of a new picture book by picture book author Hiroshi Abe will be held.
The concurrently held Asahiyama Zoo original workshop (animal coloring / origami picture book making / Ezo deer leather charm making) requires no belongings. Asahiyama Zoo staff will kindly guide.
■Part 2 (14:30~) For adults: Thinking of "Zero Carbon ZOO" as "environmental conservation"
Part 2 is a talk that re-evaluates decarbonization efforts as regional environmental conservation, with the theme of Asahiyama Zoo's initiative "Zero Carbon ZOO". Speakers are Mr. Tetsuya Tamura (Asahiyama Zoo Director), Mr. Kazunori Yasutomi (Asahikawa City Environmental Department, Person in Charge of Zero Carbon), and Ms. Konatsu Yoshida (Asahikawa City Green Ambassador). Concrete viewpoints will be shared from the perspectives of the zoo, administration, and communicators.
■Part 3 (15:10~16:30) For adults: Thinking about environmental conservation where humans and bears live with experts
Part 3 will organize the points we want to know, while considering what is happening on site, with the theme of "Environmental conservation where humans and bears live". Speakers are Mr. Gen Bando, Mr. Hiroshi Abe, Mr. Maki Yamamoto, and Mr. Takaki Terasawa. Moderation will be served by Asahiyama Zoo Club Chairman Yoshihiro Mori.
【About Break and Seating Guidance】
After Part 1 ends, a 30-minute break is scheduled. During the break time, those who applied for Part 2 will be guided to their seats, prioritizing them.
At the venue, sales of books and goods are scheduled.
Also, as a small commemorative gift for visiting, an A4 cotton bag will be handed out.
