Overview

The "Mikasa Geopark Photo Fest 2026 ~Take Pictures! Learn! and Travel!~" will be held. This project combines the conventional "One Hundred Million Year Time Travel Geotour Through the Viewfinder" and a "Photo Contest," and is a 1-day photo event with the entire city of Mikasa, which is certified as a Geopark, as the subject. Participants will be free to move around the city and take photos until the designated time. Afterward, the photos taken will be submitted, and a critique will be given, with awards presented to outstanding works.

Also, we will welcome photographer Mayumi Watanabe as a guest lecturer, who will provide lectures on shooting points and technical guidance on photographic expression based on her extensive knowledge and experience. Additionally, during the event, facilities that are normally inaccessible will be opened, and area explanations by geo-guides will be provided at each spot. A multitude of landscapes that will make you want to press the shutter button await you.

■Guest Lecturer: Photographer Mayumi Watanabe (resident of Sapporo)

■Capacity: 50 people
*Junior high school students and younger must be accompanied by a guardian.
*Registration will close once the capacity is reached.

■What to bring, etc.: Bring a camera (smartphones not allowed)
*Any type of camera is acceptable; having a wide-angle lens or a telephoto lens will make it more enjoyable.
