SPOT
Shell Plaza, Port
Located along Route 229 on the Sea of Japan and adjacent to the "Shell House," which is designed in the shape of a shell. Located in the middle of the Oiwake Soran Line (Route 229), a popular driving course, it is a great place to take a break while feeling the sea breeze from the Sea of Japan. The museum also sells specialty products of Rangetsu Town, local vegetables, and souvenirs of rare shellfish from around the world. The 5,000 shells of about 1,500 species on display in the adjacent Shell Museum are well worth a visit.
