Kazafushidake (風不死岳)

Overview

At 1,102.5 meters above sea level, Kazafushidake is derived from the Ainu word hupsi (a place with Abies sachalinensis). As the name implies, the mountain is covered with clusters of Abies sachalinensis (Abies sachalinensis) growing near the summit, as well as forests interspersed with Ezo spruce and deciduous broad-leaved trees, which add seasonal color to the lake landscape.

Tarumae is usually climbed from the side of the 7th station hutte. Because of the steep rocky terrain near the summit, the typical Tarumaeyama 7th station hutte course takes 3 hours uphill and 2 hours and 30 minutes downhill.
