Banei Tokachi

Banei horse racing is the only horse race in the world where horses weighing over one ton compete for strength and speed on a straight course by pulling a weighted sled. The power contest of agricultural horses in the pioneer days of Hokkaido has been passed down to modern-day racing, and is now an inspirational part of Hokkaido's heritage.
