Located approximately 10 kilometers northeast from JR Nanae Station and approximately 12 kilometers southeast from JR Onuma-Koen Station, currently 160 hectares have been developed into grassland and are being used as a town-operated ranch. The elevation is 550 meters, and it is a cool and comfortable environment even in midsummer. The first snow is in late October, snowmelt is from late April to early May, and a sea of clouds can sometimes be seen when conditions are met.

The "Shirodai Skyline," which passes through the ranch, is an asphalt-paved winding road with a width of 7.5 meters and a total length of approximately 14 kilometers, connecting the central part of Nanae Town and the Onuma area, which is a tourist destination, and you can enjoy it from the fresh greenery of early summer to the autumn foliage.

It is a scenic ranch where you can overlook Komagatake to the north, Hakodateyama to the south, and the Ohno Plain below to the southwest, and from the observatory along the road, you can enjoy a wonderful natural landscape during the daytime, and at night, Hakodate's "ura-yakei" (back night view), nicknamed "Nanatsu-boshi Yakei" (Seven-Star Night View), which is like jewels scattered. During the autumn foliage season, the area along the Shirodai Skyline, which passes through the ranch, turns bright red, and along with the view from the summit, it delights the eyes of visitors.
