SPOT
Hakodate Nanae Snow Park
The resort boasts a 4km long ski slope, towering Mount Komagatake, and a spectacular location with Lake Onuma and Lake Konuma at its base. The eight courses are not only maintained by compacting the slopes with snow-grooming vehicles, but also take advantage of the natural terrain to create fluffy powder zones and bumps.
The "Challenge Course" for intermediate skiers is an incredibly beautiful course, with the contrast between the rows of white birch trees along the course, the white snow and the blue sky. With the snow-capped Mount Komagatake towering before you and Lake Onuma and Lake Konuma at its base, the spectacular view is sure to captivate you. There are free shuttle buses from Onuma Station and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station, both about 40 minutes by JR from Hakodate. There are also plenty of ski schools.
