Limestone Dome of Futamata Hot Spring
The limestone dome is the result of precipitation of large amounts of carbonated lime components in the hot spring water. The terraced limestone dome is about 400 m long, 200 m wide, and up to 25 m thick, and is one of the largest limestone domes in the world. It is also designated as a natural monument of Hokkaido.
