SPOT
Komorebi no Mori Memorial Hall
The former Sorachi Coal Mine Club was built in 1897 by Hokkaido Coal Mine Railway Co. It was extended and remodeled many times, and became a club exclusively for entertainment in 1954, and even after it was taken over by Sorachi Coal Mine Co. Although some of the buildings were demolished, the Western-style main building and the Sukiya-style annex were restored and nicknamed "Komorebi-no-Mori Memorial Hall" to preserve them for many years to come, as they remind us of the heyday of the coal mine.
