Akahira Coal Mine Heritage Guidance Facility
This facility introduces the valuable coal mine heritage of Akahira. It is a base facility for visitors to tour the inside of the former Sumitomo Akahira Coal Mine shaft turret building and other facilities while listening to the explanations of guides, mainly those who actually worked in the coal mine.
Permanent Exhibits in the Guidance Facility
Approximately 200 items relocated from the Coal Mine Historical Museum are on display.
Guided Tours of Coal Mine Heritage
Tours are available for a fee (twice a day, from 10:00 and 13:30 on days the museum is open).
Guided tours with a former coal miner are available.
