Akabira City Coal Mine Heritage Guidance Facility

A facility that introduces Akabira's valuable coal mine heritage, and is a base facility for touring the interior of the building of the former Sumitomo Akabira Coal Mine Headframe, etc., while listening to explanations from guides primarily by those who actually worked at the coal mine.

■Permanent Exhibition Inside Guidance Facility (Admission Free)
Approximately 200 items of materials relocated from the Coal Mine History Museum are on display.

■Coal Mine Heritage Guided Tour (2 times a day, on opening days from 10:00~/13:30~)
You can tour the interior of the yard of the former Sumitomo Akabira Coal Mine Headframe, which was once boasted as "the best in the Orient," and the Self-Propelled Frame Maintenance Factory, which exhibits large excavation machinery, etc., that were actually used in the coal mine, with a guide who is a former coal miner.
