Akahira City Coal Mine Heritage Guidance Facility
This facility introduces Akahira's valuable coal mining heritage and is a base facility for visitors to tour the inside of the former Sumitomo Akahira Coal Mine shaft turret building and other facilities while listening to the explanations of guides, mainly those who actually worked in the coal mine.
Permanent exhibition in the guidance facility (free admission)
Approximately 200 items relocated from the Coal Mine Historical Museum are on display.
Guided tours of the coal mine heritage (twice a day, from 10:00 and 13:30 on days the museum is open)
Guided tours are offered by a former coal miner to the inside of the yard of the former Sumitomo Akahira Coal Mine, which was once called the "best in the East," and the self-propelled frame maintenance shop, where large excavation equipment actually used in the coal mine is on display.

Non-Akahira City residents: Adults (junior high school students and older): 800 yen / Elementary school students: 300 yen
Residents of Akahira: Adults (junior high school students and older): 200 yen / Elementary school students: free
