SPOT
Sounkyo Gorge・Daisetsuzan Photo Museum
Sounkyo-Daisetsuzan Photo Museum, it is, a thing that utilized the abandoned school site of Sounkyo Elementary School, and, occupies a corner of the Japanese mountain photography world, and will permanently exhibit the works of "Koetsu Ichinei" Mr., the leading authority of Daisetsuzan photography.
Mr., while being conscious of the supernatural sublime beauty or Alpine-like scenery that conventional mountain photographers were apt to pursue, without sticking to it more than necessary, let his thoughts wander to the distant past in which the indigenous Ainu people were traversing this mountain range, and taking the inner heightened feeling naturally welling up from that scene as the source of his creation, placed importance on turning his eyes to and expressing the casual appearance at his feet, and regarding Daisetsuzan, is single-mindedly turning his eyes to and expressing "the beauty of flatness" which is its characteristic.
Please fully enjoy the works of Mr., amounting to 200 pieces.
