Sounkyo Onsen, the largest hot spring resort in Daisetsuzan National Park, is located in the middle of a 24-km-long gorge with sheer cliffs, and is lined with hotels and guest houses, creating a hot spring resort. The hot springs, once used as a hot spring for mountain climbers, now attract about 2 million tourists a year.
