Sea of Japan Ororon Line
A scenic road that riders long for
The Ororon Line is a 380km long coastal road that starts in Otaru and connects to Wakkanai. The Rumoi-Horonobe section in particular has been designated as the "Blooming Tenpoku Ororon Route," and you can enjoy driving while watching the sun setting over the Sea of Japan and the majestic Rishiri Fuji. In addition, the Hokkaido Prefectural Highway 106 Wakkanai Teshio Line, which connects Teshio and Wakkanai, runs along the Sea of Japan for the most part, and there are almost no man-made objects such as utility poles or houses except for wind turbines for wind power generation, making it a place that many riders long for.
