Overview
As the name suggests, this is a famous spot for sunsets.
Located in a corner of the Shiretoko National Campground, it is also a popular dating spot for young travelers. The setting sun creates vermilion streaks on the sea surface in spring and fall, and in winter, when the sea surface, covered white by drift ice, turns golden.
