Hokkaido's early summer representing flower, lily of the valley. Here, Biratori Town Mt. Poroshiri's foot's Memu's wild lily of the valley colony is approximately 15ha and boasts Japan's number one spaciousness. By many people stepping into (it), the lily of the valley that faced the crisis of extinction was protected and managed, and 10 years' time was spent to restore (it) to a natural state. Currently, general public opening is every year from late May to mid-June for approximately 1 month, and the best time to see is June's "Lily of the Valley Appreciation Event"'s period. The white and lovely flowers viewed from the viewing road surrounded by white birch groves have become the town flower.
