The high ground at the mouth of the Harubetsu River where the Roadside Station Odaito and Northern Observation Tower are located along Route 244 (Shiretoko Nosap Line) is called Shiratoridai. It is known as a point where swans gather every year from December to March.

The Notsuke Peninsula can be seen across the sea, and during the severe cold season, it is known as a spot to see the "square sun," a Betsukai Town tradition, attracting many photographers.
