Takigami Valley "Kinxenkyo"

The Naginashiname River that flows through the urban area of Takigami Town is called Takigami Valley "Kinxenkyo. The Naginashiname River merges with its tributary, the Sakuru River, near the Niji-no-hashi Bridge in the center of the town, narrowing the width of the river and making it a rapid stream with numerous large and small waterfalls. Eventually, the current slows and a quiet space prevails.

Along both banks of the river, there is a foot-friendly "woodchip paved" walking trail, which can be enjoyed throughout the four seasons: fresh greenery in spring, cool shade in summer, and autumn leaves in fall. Alpine plants, various trees, and wild birds can also be seen. It is also known as a great place for bird watching, and it is often possible to see rare small birds.

The scenery of this area is brave and beautiful, and is well known as a scenic spot. Takigami Gorge "Kinzenkyo" offers guided tours by local residents (for a fee).
