Sarufutsu Village is a nature-rich village with a population of about 2,800, located in the northernmost part of Hokkaido (Soya region). It boasts the largest area of any village in Hokkaido, with flat, vast land facing the Sea of Okhotsk stretching as far as the eye can see. Access from nearby major cities and airports is well-established, making it an attractive location where you can directly experience the great nature of the far north.

The climate is very cool throughout the year, creating a comfortable environment where a surprisingly refreshing sea breeze blows even in summer. In winter, it transforms into a world of pure white with severe cold, and you can enjoy the dynamic and mystical changes of the seasons unique to this northernmost land, such as the approach of drift ice from the Sea of Okhotsk.

The key industries are fishing and dairy farming, which take advantage of the rich sea and vast land. In particular, its "scallops" boast the largest catch in Japan and have received the highest praise from both home and abroad for their overwhelming sweetness and thick texture. Additionally, many dairy cows are raised on the vast grasslands that stretch as far as the eye can see, and high-quality raw milk is produced in abundance. It is a beautiful village full of northern romance, where magnificent views, typified by the "Esanuka Line" road that continues to the horizon, coexist with the finest blessings from the sea in Japan.
