Abira Town is located in the southwestern part of Hokkaido, bordering Yuni Town to the north, Atsuma Town to the east, Tomakomai City to the south, and Chitose City to the west.
Situated in the Central Hokkaido region, it is approximately 50 km in a straight line from Sapporo City and about 14 km from New Chitose Airport. The town is adjacent to both New Chitose Airport and the Port of Tomakomai and is well-served by transportation, with railways and expressways connecting central and eastern Hokkaido passing through the area.
The average annual temperature is 6.5°C, which is warm compared to the Hokkaido average, and the annual precipitation is around 1,000 mm. Rainfall is concentrated between July and September, and winter snowfall is relatively light for Hokkaido. Agriculture is the town's key industry.
