Sarabetsu is located in the southern part of the Tokachi region, about a 40-minute drive from Obihiro City via the Obihiro-Hiroo Expressway and a short 15-minute drive from Tokachi-Obihiro Airport.
The key industry is agriculture, producing crops such as potatoes, wheat, beans, cabbage, and asparagus. The cultivated area per farm household is approximately 50 hectares, equivalent to over ten Tokyo Domes, making it a village that perfectly fits the image of the vast Tokachi Plain.
