Shiriuchi Town is located in the southwestern part of Hokkaido and is home to the entrance and exit of the Seikan Tunnel. The town faces the Tsugaru Strait and is attractive for its "food," including fresh and abundant seafood and agricultural products grown on fertile land. With the opening of the Hokkaido Shinkansen, access to the Tokyo metropolitan area has improved, and direct flights to the Kansai region are available from the nearby Hakodate Airport.
In November 2016, the "Shinkansen Observation Tower" opened, offering a full view of the Hokkaido Shinkansen as it emerges from the Seikan Tunnel. You can also witness the rare moment when the Shinkansen and a freight train cross paths. We invite you to come and visit.
