A Taste of Hokkaido-Exclusive Snacks: Trying "Ishikari Nabe Flavor" and "Haskap Aronia Flavor" Found in Supermarkets
Have you ever seen the light, airy rice cracker snack "Fuwatto" in supermarkets and noticed its Hokkaido-exclusive versions: "Shaketto Ishikari Nabe Flavor" and "Fuwatto Haskap Aronia Flavor"? When you see "Hokkaido-exclusive," you just have to try them... but what do they taste like?

First up is the "Shaketto Ishikari Nabe Flavor." As soon as I opened the bag, the savory aroma of miso filled the air. And then, the first bite.

Amidst the crispy texture, you can taste the distinct salmon flavor of Ishikari Nabe, a famous Hokkaido hot pot! It's the perfect snack to pair with an alcoholic beverage. A bite of Shaketto, a sip of your drink, another bite, another sip... it's an endless, delicious cycle. I couldn't stop!

Next is the intriguing "Fuwatto Haskap Aronia Flavor." I couldn't even imagine what it would taste like... Opening the bag, I found cute, pink-colored snacks. Time for a taste.

It has a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture, with a refreshing tartness and a hint of sweetness. This one would pair perfectly with a fizzy drink like cola or soda!

Actually, these products are a collaboration with Hokkaido Chitose High School. This came about because the "Fuwatto" factory in Hokkaido is located in Chitose City. The Chitose River is known as the "hometown of salmon," and haskap berries and aronia are local specialties of Chitose. The package design was also created by the high school students.
These snacks are filled with the passion of Chitose's high school students who want to promote their hometown. If you spot them at a supermarket or souvenir shop, be sure to pick them up!
