From Meiji Dice Caramels to Hokkaido Dice Caramels
Hokkaido Dice Caramels are a representative confectionery of Hokkaido, produced and sold by Donan Foods Corporation in Hakodate. Many people know it from the original "Meiji Dice Caramels" that were sold by Meiji Corporation (formerly Meiji Seika) since 1927. However, its dice caramels were discontinued in March 2016.
In June of the same year, in response to the outpouring of regret, Donan Foods, which was responsible for the production of Meiji Dice Caramels, resumed sales as "Hokkaido Dice Caramels. At that time, some of the ingredients were changed to those produced in Hokkaido, and the design of the first eye was changed from the Meiji mark to the Hokkaido mark.
