The Munich Christmas Market in Sapporo is a winter event that began in 2002 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the sister city partnership between Sapporo and Munich, Germany. In 2025, the 24th annual event will be held in Odori Park's 2-chome area from Friday, November 21st to Thursday, December 25th.

The venue will be lined with booths selling Christmas goods, German food, and more, with various events held throughout the period! Alongside the Sapporo White Illumination, which is held concurrently in Odori Park and other locations, it's a popular winter event that creates a romantic Christmas atmosphere.

This day celebrates Saint Nicholas, a figure as important as Santa Claus in Germany. On December 6th, Santa will give out sweets to children, allowing them to experience an authentic German winter tradition in Sapporo.
