"companio," a Scenic Cafe with 360-Degree Views of the Sea of Okhotsk Where Drift Ice Reaches the Shore
This heartwarming hot drink lets you come face-to-face with palm-sized seals. It's served at "companio, the Cafe on the Sea," located in Mombetsu, a city in eastern Hokkaido known as the "town of drift ice" facing the Sea of Okhotsk. Mombetsu is also famous as a place where seals come ashore. It's home to Japan's only seal conservation facility, the Okhotsk Tokkari Center, and Azarashi Sea Paradise, which houses three spotted seals.
