Odori Nishi 6-chome: ASAHI SUPER DRY BEER PARK - "Genghis Khan supervised by Yoyotei" (¥1,500)
"Genghis Khan supervised by Yoyotei" (¥1,500), a dish overseen by a popular Genghis Khan restaurant located near the Susukino intersection.
Our top food pick at the Nishi 6-chome "ASAHI SUPER DRY BEER PARK" is the Genghis Khan, supervised by the famous restaurant "Yoyotei," known for its Genghis Khan and creative lamb dishes! The sauce, which isn't too sweet, really brings out the rich flavor of the lamb. It's a well-portioned dish, complete with vegetables like cabbage, onions, and bean sprouts.
We enjoyed it with an "Asahi Super Dry Extra Cold" (435ml, ¥750) served in an original tumbler!
The Nishi 6-chome venue has plenty of shade, making it comfortable even on sunny days.
With the recent sweltering heat, the ice-cold Asahi Super Dry was exceptionally delicious. The 6-chome venue has many large trees, providing pleasant shade to relax in.
Odori Nishi 7-chome: KIRIN ICHIBAN SHIBORI BEER GARDEN - "Pizza with Kujo Green Onions and Whitebait"
Freshly made in an authentic kiln: "Pizza with Kujo Green Onions and Whitebait" for ¥2,700.
At the Nishi 7-chome "KIRIN ICHIBAN SHIBORI BEER GARDEN," the must-try dish is the piping hot pizza, which is baked to order in a kiln rather than being made in advance. The balance of fluffy whitebait, crisp Kujo green onions, and a chewy, fragrant crust is simply exquisite.
While Kirin Ichiban Shibori is a great beer to pair with it, this time we opted for the craft beer tasting set of three (330ml x 3, ¥2,200). The set includes three types: powerful, fruity, and unique.
The beers in the tasting set change daily.
This tasting set offers a great way to sample different beers in moderation, making it perfect for a girls' night out or for those who don't drink a lot but want to try various flavors.
Odori Nishi 8-chome: THE SAPPORO BEER GARDEN - "Otaru Ushio Zangi"
A Hokkaido soul food that pairs perfectly with beer: "Otaru Ushio Zangi" (4 pieces, ¥950).
At the Nishi 8-chome "THE SAPPORO BEER GARDEN," our recommendation is "Zangi," a Hokkaido soul food that's a perfect match for Sapporo Classic beer! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a perfect salty flavor. It's satisfying without being greasy, and it makes you want to drink more and more beer.
We paired it with the "Sapporo Classic Natsu no Sokai" (medium mug, ¥800), a limited-edition beer available only at the 8-chome venue, known for its fruity taste.
For tourists, the Hokkaido-exclusive "Sapporo Classic" is a must-try.
The famous large tent is an iconic symbol of the Sapporo Odori Beer Garden. It was bustling with people from the very first day.
Odori Nishi 10-chome: World Beer Square with Hokkaido - "Grilled Chicken"
At Nishi 10-chome, you can enjoy not just beer but also global cuisine. "Grilled Chicken" for ¥700.
As the name suggests, the 10-chome venue offers beers from around the world, along with a wide range of international snacks. This time, we chose the grilled chicken from "El Asador," a popular Spanish, Mexican, and Latin American restaurant with locations in places like Kutchan.
The fragrantly grilled chicken was tender, juicy, and surprisingly light and delicious. We enjoyed it with an Italian beer, "Dreher" (330ml, ¥800).
Over 100 types of beer from around the world are gathered here.
Many of the world beers are served in bottles, which makes you want to order a variety and line them up.
*The menu at the World Gourmet Square in the 10-chome venue will change. The first half is from 7/18 to 7/31, and the second half is from 8/1 to 8/13.
Odori Nishi 11-chome: Sapporo German Village - "Berliner Currywurst"
A perfect match for German beer! "Berliner Currywurst" (¥800).
Currywurst, said to have originated in Berlin, is a dish of grilled sausage generously topped with ketchup and curry powder. The slightly spicy and savory sausage is, as expected, a perfect match for German beer. The sauerkraut (pickled cabbage) served on the side was also a delicious palate cleanser.
We paired it with the limited-quantity "Hofbräu Schwarz Weisse" (300ml, ¥1,400). Despite its 5.1% ABV, it has a rich, sweet aroma and a full-bodied flavor.
Enjoy the authentic taste of Germany, the home of beer, at Nishi 11-chome.
This venue serves beer from "Hofbräu," the state-owned brewery of Bavaria and an official brewery of Germany's Oktoberfest. You can enjoy an authentic taste here.
Odori Nishi 5-chome: SUNTORY The PREMIUM MALT'S GARDEN - "JIM BEAM Premium Hokkaido Milk Soft-Serve Ice Cream"
Last year's popular dessert is back! "JIM BEAM Premium Hokkaido Milk Soft-Serve Ice Cream" (¥630).
We're introducing the 5-chome venue last because we wanted to highlight this dessert! The super popular Jim Beam original soft-serve ice cream from last year is back for 2025. With an alcohol content of 3.6%, you can really taste the Jim Beam flavor. It's rich yet has a clean, refreshing finish.
For those who don't drink alcohol, there's the non-alcoholic "Hokkaido Milk Soft-Serve Ice Cream" (¥480). With its smooth texture and rich milky flavor, this soft-serve would pair well not only with beer but also with a highball.
Nishi 5-chome also offers mega-sized dishes, perfect for groups.
The 5-chome venue is marked by its blue-roofed tents. It's the closest to the TV Tower, making it a popular spot for tourists.
