Experience forest growing in Urahoro Town, Tokachi, where young power is active! 1-week part-time tree-planting tour

Would you like to do some forest growing in Hokkaido this spring? We are pleased to introduce a one-week part-time tree-planting tour to nurture forests in the town of Urahoro, Tokachi. If you love nature and forests and want to work in them, this is the perfect program for you.

Urahoro Town, where all primary industries are available and young power is active!

浦幌町

Urahoro Town is located in eastern Hokkaido, between Obihiro and Kushiro, and forms part of the Tokachi area. With a population of approximately 4200, the community is home to a thriving primary industry of dairy farming, agriculture, fishing, and forestry. The forestry industry in particular is supported by the forests that cover about 70% of the town's area, making it a "forest town. In addition, the town's young people are active in various fields, as exemplified by the "Uraboro Style" project to nurture children's love for their hometown.

Spend a week with nature!

浦幌町

Participants in the part-time tour learn the basics of forestry and experience authentic tree-planting work. In the process of "afforestation," which is the cultivation of trees that will become timber decades later, new trees are planted in the spring on land prepared in the fall, which is the "afforestation" work that you will experience. By the way, Wednesdays are closed and free time, so you can use this opportunity to learn about the charms of the town and its surroundings.

Of course, wages are well paid!

北村林業株式会社

We were the first in Japan to introduce the "Highlander," which is equipped with high felling power and can handle all processes.

Wages are paid at 10,000 yen per working day. The host company, Kitamura Forestry Co., Ltd. aims to be "a company that will be needed by the community and customers 100 years from now," and its mission is to leave rich resources for people's lives 50 to 100 years from now. While fusing cutting-edge technology with traditional techniques, we take on the challenge of new initiatives every day to hand over trees and forests to the future. We are particularly focused on improving the work environment for female employees and introducing more efficient afforestation techniques, shaping the future of afforestation work.
