What is the Sapporo Odori Beer Garden?

The Sapporo Odori Beer Garden is one of Japan's largest beer gardens, with over 10,000 seats set up in the spacious Odori Park, attracting 886,000 visitors in 2023. This event, which started in 1959 as the "Cool Evening Garden," allows you to enjoy summer days to your heart's content with a beer in hand. The 2025 event will run for 27 days, from Friday, July 18 to Wednesday, August 13. It will once again be held as part of the Sapporo Summer Festival.

The Suntory The PREMIUM MALT'S GARDEN at Nishi 5-chome is conveniently located just a 1-minute walk from Odori subway station. The covered seating area has been significantly expanded since last year. Here, you can enjoy dishes supervised by Chef Shin Shimoguni, the first-ever champion of the "CHEF-1 Grand Prix," which pair perfectly with Suntory's pride, The Premium Malt's. All seats support mobile ordering, which not only saves you the trouble of buying tickets but is also incredibly convenient as staff will bring your food and drinks directly to your table.

The food menu includes the "Lamb and Summer Vegetable Genghis Khan Ratatouille" supervised by Chef Shin Shimoguni, as well as a "10-Filling Mexican Taco Party Set" perfect for sharing with friends, and a variety of hearty mega-sized dishes.

The ASAHI SUPER DRY BEER PARK at Nishi 6-chome offers a perfect location to enjoy beer in the shade of the trees. At this venue, you can savor fresh draft beer produced at Sapporo's only large-scale brewery, located in Shiroishi-ku, Sapporo.

This year, in pursuit of the ultimate "chill" for draft beer, they will be serving sub-zero "Super Dry Extra Cold" in aluminum "Kinkin Tumblers." Be sure to enjoy the "super-chilled experience" the moment you hold it in your hand and the moment it touches your lips.

The popular reserved seating at the KIRIN ICHIBAN Beer Garden in Nishi 7-chome offers over 300 seats inside a large tent. You can also enjoy watching the food being prepared in the live kitchen while you wait.

The food menu features freshly prepared dishes, including the Kirin Beer Garden's famous raw lamb Genghis Khan, authentic kiln-baked pizza, and Muroran yakitori. Be sure to enjoy them with a Kirin Ichiban or other beverages.

THE SAPPORO BEER GARDEN at Nishi 8-chome is a special beer garden where you can experience all of Hokkaido. While keeping the large all-weather tent, the number of 4-person tables has been doubled from last year. Not only can you enjoy "Sapporo Classic," which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, but the venue will also offer a limited edition "Classic Summer Refreshing Draft Beer."

A new live kitchen will debut this year. You can savor dishes that pair perfectly with beer, such as piping hot "Deep-fried half chicken," "Genghis Khan," and "Ankake Yakisoba."

At Nishi 10-chome's "World Beer Square with Hokkaido," you'll find a grand total of over 100 types of beer from all over the world, including international draft and bottled beers, as well as local craft beers from Hokkaido. The "Choose!! Beer Tasting Set," which lets you select three types of international draft beers, is a great way to experience the different tastes and characteristics of beers from various countries.

Breweries from within Hokkaido will also be present at the venue. The food corner offers a great selection of international cuisine and meat dishes that pair well with beer.

At Nishi 11-chome's "Sapporo German Village," you can enjoy draft beer from Hofbräu, an official brewery of the world's largest beer festival, Oktoberfest. Savor the rich aroma and deep flavor of draft beer imported directly from Germany. About half of the venue is tented, and there are plenty of sofa seats and standing areas, creating a relaxed layout throughout the entire space.

In addition to German beer, a wide variety of drinks are available, including wine, chuhai, non-alcoholic beer, kids' beer, and soft drinks. The food menu is also extensive, featuring authentic German flavors like sausages and Eisbein (pork knuckle).
