Takasu Town Hokkaido

On the night of May 11, the Northern Lights were observed in Nayoro City, Rikubetsu Town, and other locations in Hokkaido. The red and purple sky created a fantastic sight, and many people were fascinated by this celestial show. While many photographers captured the scene, Domingo local player Makoto Kobayashi captured the aurora borealis in a certain "unique Hokkaido landscape" in Takasu Town.

Takasu Town is about a two-hour drive north from the town of Anpei, where Mr. Kobayashi lives. He chose Takasu because he was looking for a location with rice paddies covered with water. Mr. Kobayashi wanted to shoot the Northern Lights in a location "unique to Hokkaido," and considered locations that would combine the scenery with primary industries. He finally decided to shoot in connection with rice paddies and chose this location.

The photo shooting took place for about an hour from 9:00 p.m. on the 11th. The low-latitude aurora changed color in less than a minute, and Mr. Kobayashi continuously snapped the shutter.

It took about one minute from the red aurora in the thumbnail to here. The aurora changed color in the blink of an eye.

Mr. Kobayashi also photographed the aurora borealis at other points. Fantastic scenery here as well.

The pale red to pink and purple auroras that colored the sky were reflected in the mirror-like rice paddies, and the photos further enhanced the fantastic appearance.

Check it out as well!
