The romance of railroads has many fans, and recently there have been many different genres among railroad enthusiasts, such as "rider's railroad" and "photographer's railroad. In this issue, we asked Yuzuko-san, who travels in a new style of fashion called "kittetsu," which means wearing the same color scheme as the train body, about the appeal of "kittetsu.

Kimotetsu Work No. 9 "The Train, the Bridge over the Railroad, and Me

I started to get involved with the Isaribi Railway.

Quote from @_yuzu_40's post

Yuzu, who posts her "Kittetsu" on social networking sites, lives in the Tokyo metropolitan area. She has been showing her particular railroad coordinates all over Japan and has often attracted attention for the high degree of reproduction.

The "KITETETSU" work that has been the talk of the town on SNS this time is, as the title suggests, a total coordination of three items: a train, a bridge over a railroad track, and fashion! The work, which not only features trains but also stations, has received comments such as "I sense a sense of style" and "A perfect piece.

Why "wearing iron" on Hokkaido's railroads? We spoke with the man himself.

Yuzu-san is also a Hokkaido lover, so much so that she writes in her X profile that she has a "passion for Hokkaido. While working as an office worker in the Tokyo metropolitan area, she travels around Hokkaido at a brisk pace, about once every three weeks, and we can sense her love of Hokkaido in her daily posts. In this interview, we spoke with Yuzu-san.

QHow did you get started with Chikutetsu?

I had a favorite train (Kiha 40) because of its cute shape, and when I saw a train painted with a reprint of the JNR era image, I thought, "Cute livery! I saw a reprint of a car painted with an image of the Japanese National Railways era and thought, "What a cute color scheme! Immediately after that, I began to think, "This coloring could be coordinated with my clothes to create a cute look.

As an aside, it also crossed my mind that a friend of mine at university made slides for a conference presentation in the image colors of a favorite anime character. At that time, I thought, "So this is how she felt when she happily imitated the colors! I also thought, "This is how she felt when she happily imitated the colors!

QWhat made you fall in love with Hokkaido?

When I first toured Hokkaido with Go To Travel, I was struck by the grandeur of the land, its history, and the romance of its pioneering spirit.

I often travel by train because I believe that it is cheaper to travel around Hokkaido by public transportation than by rental car, and I can enjoy the experience over and over again. The more I visit, the more I appreciate the romance of the north, and no matter how many times I visit, the seasons change, and the land becomes a different world.

The scenery from the train windows and the railroads and stations (including abandoned railway lines and station ruins) themselves are like museums where you can see the activities and footprints of the people who built Hokkaido, especially from the Meiji period to the Showa period.

JNR standard color

This is the color that made me start wearing iron, and I have a strong attachment to it.

There were only two cars of this color in the large area of the road, and it was difficult to meet them. I was not familiar with railroads until then, but in order to meet and ride this car and take two shots of it, I studied something called car operation (*). As a result, I could predict that I would have a high probability of meeting the train if I stayed at Kitami Station for a few days, so I stayed in Kitami for about three days to observe and predict the train's operation, and was able to meet the train systematically. Here are some photos I took on the train at that time.

*Which color car (individual) will be assigned to which train at which time. Because of its cyclical nature, it is often possible to predict several days ahead by observing the operations on a given day.

Hokkaido Color

This is the most standard color of JR Hokkaido, and my favorite color among all the colors painted on Kiha 40s in Japan.

It is easy to encounter them (on the cars) because there are so many of them on the road, but it was not easy to encounter clothes in this color. The blue-purple color of the skirt is especially exquisite, and it took me several months of wandering around apparel stores and flea market apps to find it. I love it because it coordinates easily with my everyday wear. Perhaps it was because it was my own unique outfit in the colors of Hokkaido, but I was sometimes approached by followers who had never met me before because they recognized me when I was just riding along in the outfit.

Finally, I have a message for Domingo readers.

When you wear the colors of your favorite things or your guess, you can turn a simple clothing selection or a simple ride into an enjoyable event. I started this hobby for my own satisfaction, and it would be a great pleasure for me if you, our readers, could enjoy seeing it as well.

Some of you may already be playing similar games, but I would love to see many others' works, so please give it a try if you have the chance.

With her new perspective, Yuzu has turned an everyday scene into a fun event. We look forward to seeing more of Yuzuko's work, in which she expresses her "love" with her whole body!
