The user "Kushiro Shumi no Satsuei @Torikozo" (@946946ku) posted on social media about a strange phenomenon: a stove that had been unplugged for 20 years suddenly started making a "beep, beep, beep" sound. The power was indeed off, and you can hear the sound around the 46-second mark of the video. The poster, after being consulted by their grandfather, went as far as disassembling the stove to find the cause, but couldn't locate the source of the sound. At a loss, they decided to ask for help on social media.
The stove is definitely not plugged in...
The post received various speculations, such as "Could it be an electrical leak?" and "Maybe little people are living inside the stove!" However, the cause was hidden in an unexpected place.
The Culprit Wasn't the Stove... It Was the Smoke Detector on the Ceiling!
The mystery is solved.
After removing the stove, the sound continued even when there was nothing there.
I looked up at the ceiling and saw this thing was making the noise.
Man. I disassembled the stove. Carried the heavy stove out from the second floor.
I wasted so much time.

The source of the sound, revealed in a later post, was actually a warning beep from a "smoke detector," completely unrelated to the stove. Because the sound persisted even after the poster removed the stove, they happened to look up at the ceiling and realized the smoke detector was the cause.
Smoke detectors run on batteries and have a lifespan of about 10 years. When the battery is about to die, it emits a "beep, beep, beep" alarm to signal that it needs to be replaced. The sound can occur every few minutes to every few hours, so it might be hard for people who aren't used to it to identify.
Don't Ignore the Sound of Your Smoke Detector!

After the source of the sound was identified, the poster chuckled, saying, "I was so convinced it was the stove that I took it apart." While reflecting, "I should have asked on social media sooner," they kindly agreed to spread this information, adding, "I bet many people will be facing replacement time soon." If you hear this sound in your house, be sure to check the smoke detector on your ceiling first.
