Kamikawa Town

A hot dog vendor who loves the popular idol group "Momoiro Clover Z" traveled all the way from Hokkaido to set up a stall at their live event. Unfortunately, the second day was canceled, leaving them with a stock of hot dogs that they couldn't sell. They posted their frustration on social media... and what happened next?

As he stands at a loss in front of the hot dogs he couldn't sell...!?

Machigaine Ezo Base, from Kamikawa Town, Hokkaido, set up a stall to sell hot dogs at the "Momoclo Spring Festival 2025 in Shibata City" held in Niigata Prefecture in April 2025. They originally decided to set up a stall because they were fans of Momoiro Clover Z, but the second day of the event was canceled due to strong winds. They ended up with 300 homemade hot dogs left over from the sale.

"It's sad that we have to throw away the hot dogs we worked so hard to make," he said in a sad post on social media. A local person who saw his post started looking for a place to distribute them, and as a result, the long-established sake brewery, Omon Shuzo, kindly offered to provide space for them. They were able to distribute the hot dogs for free at their store near the venue.

Thanks to the generosity of Omon Sake Brewery, we are now lending them space in their store 🥹 We will be preparing and distributing free hot dogs, so please come and try some if you'd like 🥹 We also have lots of delicious alcohol on sale, so please buy some before you go ☺️👍

On social media, along with the hashtag "Even if it's cancelled, it's still a big spring event in Shibata," warm comments such as "Local people, hurry up!", "It's really delicious!", and "Please set up a stall again!" were posted one after another.

"I think being a Mononofu is really great" thanks to the kindness of his fans

Although he wasn't able to give out all of them, Machigaine Ezobase managed to avoid throwing them all away. In his X, he expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you to everyone at Oumon Brewery, everyone who came to eat hot dogs, everyone who spread the word, and everyone who was worried about us," and "I really think that being a Mononofu is a great thing."

Machigaine Ezobase's hot dogs, which were highly praised by fans who rushed to the venue, are a special item that is carefully handmade one by one, from the buns to the sausages to the chili meat. They have stalls at various sports venues in Hokkaido and music festivals all over the country.
