The solitary stairs, surrounded by lush greenery, have an atmosphere that makes you feel as if you could wander into another world. On social media, comments have poured in, such as "It looks like the ending of a video game" and "I desperately want to go here."

Stairs That Have Remained for Over 30 Years Since the Station's Closure

The Nayoro Main Line, where Tomioka Station was located, once connected northern Hokkaido with the Okhotsk coast. The line was discontinued in 1989, and while the tracks and platform have been removed, these stairs leading to the platform still remain.

It's amazing that the stairs are still intact after 36 years... It really makes you feel the strength of concrete structures. I was also thrilled to see the charming old sign about creating a land of rich harvests!
