The cat sitting under the car looks just like a mechanic repairing a car. On social media, people commented, "What a hardworking cat," "What a cute mechanic," and "He looks like a veteran," and the post received over 40,000 likes.
A monk from Hakodate shares the cats he meets in his neighborhood
The post was made by Morinaga, who is in charge of public relations at the Soto Zen sect Kokukasan Koryu-ji Temple in Funami-cho, Hakodate City. Morinaga says, "It's important to convey the kindness and serenity that resides in the ordinary scenes of everyday life," and as part of that activity, he began posting pictures of the cats living at the temple at the end of 2020.
His activities have gradually attracted attention, and he has even appeared in a documentary program. Morinaga continues to work every day to convey the charm of the temple and town through cats.
"Cat photo exhibition" held at temple
Koryuji Temple will be hosting a solo exhibition by cat photographer Masayuki Oki from October 19th. In addition to 44 of Oki's works, about 12 works by the contributor, Morinaga, will also be on display. Why not come and experience the peaceful time woven by the city of Hakodate and its cats?
