Biei's Blue Pond with First Snow is Too Magical! A Fairytale Morning Described as 'Truly Mystical'

The posted video shows the crystal-clear blue pond, trees just beginning to turn red, and the quietly falling first snow. It's a fantastical world that seems almost unreal. The video has garnered over 20,000 likes on social media, with many comments like, "So mystical," "I could watch this forever," "It's like visiting a fairytale land," and "Winter is already here."

The video was filmed by Yoshihiro Abiko, a photographer based in Kamifurano, Hokkaido. The footage was taken around 6:30 AM on October 21, 2025, just as the snow began to fall on the Blue Pond. Mr. Abiko describes that morning as follows:
The Blue Pond is beautiful in every season, but I think this time of year, when you can feel the end of autumn and the beginning of winter simultaneously, is breathtakingly beautiful. Faced with this fleeting scenery, I was convinced that I was living in the most beautiful morning in the world. (Yoshihiro Abiko)
