The heavy snowfall since yesterday has made the track soft and fluffy, making the horses excited❄️ It took more than five hours to clear the snow. I spend more time on heavy machinery.

What happened on a day when heavy snow fell at Makomanai Horse Riding Club in Minami Ward, Sapporo
Eikai Royal is a friendly and playful boy
This is Makomanai Equestrian Club in Minami Ward, Sapporo. The post was made in December, on a day when Sapporo was experiencing heavy snowfall. The two horses having fun were Eikai Royal and Schwarzberg. Eikai Royal has an incredible talent for show jumping in equestrian events, and in 2025 he won the Hokkaido tournament of the RRC, a competition open only to retired racehorses. He is also a talented horse who has competed in national tournaments.
The other horse, Schwarzberg, is only two years old and has yet to begin training as a riding horse, but the person in charge said, "He has movements that show great potential, so I think he will also do well in equestrian events!"
Schwarzberg is a friendly, honest and playful dog.
Makomanai Equestrian Club currently has 24 horses, 20 of which are retired racehorses. After retiring from the world of horse racing, they have started new lives here, interacting with people through riding and lessons. You can also just come to observe by making a reservation in advance via DM on Makomanai Equestrian Club's X Instagram! If you bring carrots, you can feed them to the horses, which is a great way to get up close and personal with them.
If you're interested, be sure to visit Makomanai Equestrian Club, where you can interact with horses in Sapporo.
