Hokkaido

A spontaneous comment at the airport on the way back from Hokkaido led to a moment of major embarrassment! A witty line, inspired by the "liberating vibe" of Hokkaido, has become a hot topic on social media.

With his flight delayed by over an hour, the poster was politely apologized to by an airport staff member. At that moment, what slipped out was—"I was just thinking I wasn't ready to leave yet." He intended it as a clever comeback, still basking in the afterglow of his Hokkaido trip, but was met with a deadpan stare. He said he instantly felt a wave of "Oh no, what have I done...". However, he later received a meal voucher as an apology and safely made his way home.

The post garnered over 50,000 likes, with users commenting things like, "I'm getting second-hand embarrassment," "Getting a meal voucher is amazing service," and "Glad you made it back safely, though."

The poster, who is planning to move to Hokkaido this spring, says, "I want to show off the charm of Hokkaido."

Originally from the Kanto region, this was the first visit to Hokkaido for the poster, noob_tanks. When asked about his impressions of Hokkaido, he said, "The scenery of the empty fields left a very strong impression on me." Perhaps being surrounded by such vast landscapes made him feel more open and uninhibited... That unique Hokkaido atmosphere might have been what drew out that one-liner.

And now, he is scheduled to move to Hokkaido this spring.

"The thought that I'll soon be living amidst the scenery that moved me so much is incredibly exciting. In the future, I want to boast about the charms of Hokkaido to my friends in Kanto as a resident."

This slightly embarrassing memory will surely become a funny story to tell in his new life in Hokkaido. Perhaps these casual interactions and emotions from a trip are part of what makes Hokkaido so charming.
