Spend a blissful time at Kushiro Club, a cozy and exotic space!
The name "Kushiro Club" may sound prestigious, but the restaurant is relatively new, having opened in May 2017. Take off your shoes and walk up the stairs to the second floor. Once inside, you will find a unique space that will make you feel as if you have wandered into a different world.
Under the ceiling with several thick beams running through it, various types of seating are available, including a wooden floor area and a wood-burning stove area. Depending on how you want to spend your time, you will naturally decide where to sit, such as "Today I want to read a book slowly with a cup of coffee in my hand" or "I want to enjoy the scenery without thinking. However, for first-time visitors, we recommend a seat with a large window overlooking the Kushiro River.
The Kushiro Fisherman's Wharf MOO, located across the river from the Kushiro River and the Mai-Mai Bridge, are just a few of the sights you can see from the window. This alone is enough to guarantee a blissful moment. But this is not all. Kushiro Club also offers first-class cuisine.
Lunch is fine, but you will want to enjoy dinner while enjoying the changing scenery at dusk. The restaurant's popular "omakase" course, which offers several choices (the photo above is part of the "fish main course" priced at 4,950 yen, tax included). The menu focuses on local ingredients from Kushiro and Nemuro, and sometimes incorporates ingredients from Kumamoto, where the owner's wife is from.
After enjoying both the scenery and the food, you look around the restaurant again and notice that the decor and ornaments are somewhat unique and full of exotic moods. In fact, this place used to be the Soviet Union's Japan-Soviet Friendship Hall. The owner, a native of Kushiro City, has transformed it into this wonderful restaurant and café.
Once you settle in, you will find it hard to leave. Spending time relaxing in a place like this may be the luxury of life.
