Experience Bliss at Kushiro Club: A Cozy, Exotic Escape with Stunning Views!
Spending a relaxing time at a comfortable cafe is a precious healing moment, whether in your daily life or during a trip. That's why choosing the right place is so important. The "Kushiro Club," which we recommend this time, is the perfect spot. With its relaxing atmosphere, delicious food, and the magnificent scenery of Kushiro, there's nothing more you could ask for. Let's take a peek inside.
The name Kushiro Club might evoke a sense of high-class formality, but it's a relatively new establishment that opened in May 2017. At the entrance on the first floor, you'll likely be surprised by the custom of taking off your shoes. After removing your shoes, you ascend the stairs to the second floor. The moment you step inside, a smile will surely spread across your face as you find yourself in a unique space that feels like you've wandered into another world.
Under a ceiling with several thick beams, various types of seating are available, including a flooring area and a wood-stove area. Depending on how you want to spend your time—"I want to read a book quietly with a cup of coffee today," or "I just want to gaze blankly at the scenery"—your choice of seat will naturally be decided. However, for first-time visitors, we definitely recommend a seat by the large window overlooking the Kushiro River.
The view from the window features the majestic Kushiro River, the Nusamai Bridge, and across the river, the Kushiro Fisherman's Wharf MOO. Kushiro's famous tourist spots spread out before your eyes like a single painting. This view alone practically guarantees a blissful moment. But that's not all. Kushiro Club also serves first-class cuisine.
While lunch is great, we recommend enjoying dinner while watching the changing scenery at dusk. The chef's choice course, with several options to choose from, is said to be popular (the photo above shows part of the "Fish Main Course," priced at 4,950 yen, tax included). The dishes primarily feature local ingredients from Kushiro and Nemuro, and sometimes ingredients from Kumamoto, the hometown of the owner's wife, are also incorporated.
After savoring the view and the food, take another look around the interior, and you'll notice the unique and exotic decor and ornaments. This place was originally a Soviet-Japan Friendship Hall. It was transformed into this wonderful restaurant and cafe by its owner, who is from Kushiro city.
Once you settle in, its comfort makes it incredibly hard to leave. Perhaps spending time relaxing in a place like this is one of life's true luxuries.
