Rice fields like a water mirror (Higashikawa Town)
This is the view from Kitoushi Observation Pavilion, a viewing spot in Higashikawa Town.
Higashikawa is a rice-producing area, and during the rice planting season, the rice fields look like a water mirror, and the view from the observation deck is spectacular.
I tried to take this photo during the western sunset.

The sunset that signals the end of the day casts a shimmering light on the townscape, a scene that can only be seen in a rice-producing region with its vast rice paddies.
In Higashikawa, rice planting begins in mid-May, but before that, a rice planting ceremony is held to pray for a bountiful harvest, including a ritual performed by a shrine priest and a Shinto ritual dance performed by shrine maidens.
The water surface turns golden as the ears bear fruit in the autumn!

I want to look back when I grow up! This is a healing picture of a precious first experience!
It may have been a surprising moment of encounter with the unknown for the cows, too 🐄.
Not only cows but also sheep graze on the Maruka Plateau, and there is also an observatory near the top of the mountain where you can experience many things, so I would definitely like to visit there!
