The swans that visit from Siberia to spend the winter look incredibly elegant at first glance, but their struggle to survive on the frozen lake surface against strong winds seemed incredibly harsh.
A pair of ducks was also being blown away by the wind, despite trying to stand their ground on the ice.

The photographer behind the post is Emi Kikuchi, who moved from Nagasaki to Hokkaido in 2018.
