First-time visitors to Rangetsu Town's "Kogane Onsen" may feel a little uneasy on the way there, wondering, "Is there really a hot spring resort here? You may feel a little uneasy because it is surrounded by farmland! This is because it is surrounded by farmland! What is it about this place that makes so many people go out of their way to visit it?

Kogane Onsen was founded when Katsuro Hayashi, a farmer in the area, happened to find hot spring water when he was digging on his land. So there are fields all around! That was in 1994, and now his son has taken over the operation.

The hot spring facility is truly in the middle of farmland, so there is an unobstructed view and a tremendous sense of openness. If the weather is nice, you can even see Annupuri and Mt. Katsuro originally built the facility himself, little by little, so that people in the neighborhood could enjoy it, and the handmade atmosphere is very relaxing.

The reason why this was not only a pleasure for the neighbors, but gained many fans was, after all, the quality of the spring water. When you actually get into the hot water, you can feel the fine bubbles sticking to your skin. This is evidence that the spring contains plenty of carbon dioxide and is a high quality bicarbonate of soda spring.
bicarbonate of soda springs are said to have cleansing properties. It is said to exfoliate and smooth the skin, and even moisturize it! The water itself is not so hot at 40.8°C, but it will keep your body warm forever. Of course, the water is 100% free-flowing from the source.
