Takeki Fujito (1934-2018) is one of Hokkaido's leading woodcarvers. Inheriting the traditional carving techniques of the Ainu people, he pursued his own unique style of realistic expression, expanding his artistic range to include bears, wolves, and other animals, as well as dignified portrait sculptures of his predecessors. This exhibition introduces approximately 90 works from his early to late years as well as his Ainu collection.
