Saeko Himuro (1957-2008) is a novelist from Iwamizawa City. After graduating from Iwamizawa Higashi High School, she entered the Japanese Literature Department of the Faculty of Literature at Fuji Women's University and made her debut while still a student there, becoming a leading author for Shueisha's Cobalt Bunko girls' novels label in the 1980s and 1990s. Her numerous popular works include "How Wonderful Japanesque," set in the Heian period, "Umi ga Kikoeru," which was made into an anime by Studio Ghibli, and "Gin no Umi, Kin no Daichi," a fantasy about ancient Japan. The "Fukuretsutsura" heroines in Himuro's works, who live honestly with their emotions, have a lively appeal that transcends the ages.
The world of Saeko Himuro's works, which continue to be loved by many readers, will be introduced along with a variety of other materials.
