This special exhibition is a moon-viewing event to observe "jellyfish," written as "sea moon," on the occasion of the "Mid-Autumn Moon" on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, and will feature three unique Aquarium exhibits for a limited time.

In the "PLANKTON ROOM" on the 6th floor, which houses one of the largest*1 jellyfish tanks in Hokkaido, the normally blue aquarium lighting will be switched to a moonlight-inspired lighting effect, and two types of jellyfish will be exhibited for the first time at "AOAO SAPPORO". In addition, as a collaboration with the "Eric Carle and the Wonder of Life" exhibition currently being held, a moon from the picture book "Papa, Otsukisama o tsukette! will appear in the aquarium.

The 6th floor bakery and bar "Shirokuma Bakery &" will sell "Otsukimi Burger Croissant," an omelette and cheese sandwich that looks like the moon.

Jellyfish tank lighting
The tank will be illuminated in blue to resemble moonlight.
