In recent years, rising average temperatures, heavy rains, and typhoons have been observed to cause damage to crops and ecosystems, and the risk of heavy rains and heat waves is expected to increase further in the future. In January 2023, Toyako Town declared "Toyako Town Zero Carbon City Declaration" and is aiming for a decarbonized society by 2050. In order to achieve this goal, the cooperation and understanding of the town's residents is essential.
