Goryokaku Tower boasts a 360° panoramic view of the city below. On New Year's Day, the tower is open from 6:30 am. Immediately after the first sunrise (around 7:04), a "Hatsuhinode Shishimai" lion dance performance will be performed on the observation deck. After viewing the first sunrise, visitors can pray for good health and good fortune for the year with the lion dance performance.
