The "SL Winter Shitsugen" is a special train that runs between Kushiro Station and Shibecha Station on the JR Kushiro Main Line from January to March. The interior of the train is "authentic retro," with massive varnished walls and wooden-framed chairs.
From the windows of the train, a panoramic view of the Kushiro Marshland spreads out, and wild animals such as red-crowned cranes and Ezo sika deer can be seen dancing in the snowy fields. Many railroad fans and tourists visit from all over Japan every year to enjoy the elegant SL Shitsugen-go.

Fee
Between Kushiro and Shibecha (all reserved seats)
Adult: 1,290 yen one-way ticket + 1,680 yen one-way reserved seat fee (half price for children: fractions less than 10 yen are rounded down)
*Adult fares are for junior high school students and older.
