Tragicomic Concert - Connecting literature and everyday life with humor

Date and Time

2024/12/29

15:00 Start (about 1.5 hours)

Ants Fujinaga, a Florence native and San Francisco resident, will give a concert in conjunction with his visit to Japan! LINE_BREAK]

She expresses humorous scenes from daily life with her own compositions. She sings with the clear tone of ukulele played in an ancient instrumental style.

The lyrics are casually woven with many famous quotes from European literature. The nuance of the expression is exquisite.

(Shakespeare, of course, but also Robert Burns (Scottish poet who wrote the lyrics to the original song Old Langzain of Firefly Light), Robert Frost (American poet famous for Road not taken and other works; Michiko-sama is a fan), Dante and a wide range of other works).

This is a must-listen for those who are interested in a wide range of European literature, including English literature!

A commentary and interpreter will be provided for each piece. The program will be fun and light-hearted.

You don't have to understand English very well or be familiar with literature.

Also recommended for those interested in European folk music such as Celtic music, Balkan and Renaissance music.
