In late December, when the colorful hills turn into a silver world, Takino Suzuran Hillside Park changes its name to "Takino Snow World" and opens for the winter season. The entire mountain becomes a stage for snow activities, including a 7-degree slope that's perfect for ski debuts, as well as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing! Another attraction of Takino Snow World is the wide range of rental items available.

The most popular attraction at Takino Snow World is the "tube sledding" which slides down the 200m long course, one of the longest in Japan. A rope tow will take you to the starting point, so it's easy to move around! It's fast and unlike regular sledding, it also rotates sideways, so it's more thrilling than you'd imagine.

If you want to experience nature using all five senses, try snowshoe hiking! You can walk smoothly on the fluffy new snow. Another great thing about snowshoeing is that you can borrow the equipment for free. Why not explore the forest with your family while searching for the footprints of small animals? *Snowshoes can be worn from 16cm.

Ski wear and boots are available for rental (for a fee), so even if you're just wearing light clothing, you can still have fun playing in the snow! Make a snowman, stomp down on the fresh snow...there are endless ways to have fun.
