In late December, when the once colorful hills become a silver world, Takino Suzuran Hillside Park will be renamed "Takino Snow World" and open for the winter season. The entire mountain is the stage for snow activities such as snowshoeing and walking skiing, including ski slopes with a 7-degree slope perfect for skiing debuts! Another attraction of Takino Snow World is its wide variety of rental items.
The most popular activity at Takino Snow World is "tube sledding," a 200-meter long course that is one of the largest in Japan. A rope tow brings you to the starting point, making it easy to get around! The speed is fast, and unlike regular sleds, sideways turns are added, making it more thrilling than you can imagine.
Snowshoe hiking is a great way to get in touch with nature using all five senses! You can walk on the fluffy fresh snow with ease. The free rental of snowshoe items is also a great point. Why don't you and your child explore the forest while looking for small animal footprints? Snowshoes can be worn from 16cm and up.
Ski wear and boots are available for rent (for a fee), so even if you go lightly dressed, you can play with the snow to your heart's content! Making a snowman, stepping on fresh snow... the fun is endless.
